Trignano, frazione di Fanano (Modena), febbraio 1906. Giuseppe, un ragazzo di sedici anni parte per raggiungere il padre negli Stati Uniti. Assieme a lui viaggia anche il cercatore d’oro Felice Pedroni, 47 anni, che nell’estate del 1902 ha trovato l’oro in Alaska ponendo le basi per la nascita della citt\u00e0 di Fairbanks. Per Pedroni quel viaggio
\ndi ritorno avviene in un momento molto difficile della sua esistenza.<\/p>\n
Il loro incontro cambier\u00e0 la vita di Giuseppe, spingendolo a seguire
\nFelice fino a Fairbanks dove trascorrer\u00e0 quattro anni facendo il
\nminatore.
\n\u00c8 la storia di Trignano, un piccolo borgo dell’Appennino, dove molte
\npersone devono emigrare. \u00c8 una storia di emigranti italiani in cerca di
\nmigliori condizioni di vita. \u00c8 la storia di Fairbanks, una citt\u00e0 nata
\nsolo tre anni prima, dove tutto sembra possibile. \u00c8 la storia
\ndell’ultima frontiera americana, dei bianchi che vanno a impossessarsi

\nTrignano", per contribuire a realizzare gli allestimenti del museo
\ndedicato alla Linea Gotica dei Monti della Riva, museo che vuole

\nTrignano, a remote hamlet near Fanano (Modena), February 1906.
\nGiuseppe, a boy of sixteen, sets off to join his father in the United
\nStates. He is travelling with the gold prospector Felice Pedroni, 47
\nyears of age, who found gold in Alaska in 1902, laying the foundations
\nfor the birth of the city of Fairbanks. This return journey comes at a
\nvery difficult time in Pedroni’s life. Their meeting will change
\nGiuseppe’s destiny, as he decides to follow Felice all the way to
\nFairbanks, where he will spend four years as a miner.
\nThis is the story of Trignano, a small hamlet in the Apennine
\nmountains, many of whose people are forced to emigrate to survive. It
\nis a story of Italian emigrants in search of a better life. It is the
\nstory of Fairbanks, a town founded only three years earlier, where
\neverything seemed to be possible. It is the story of America’s last
\nfrontier, and the white men taking possession of the native peoples’
\nlands. It is the story of the boy’s journey, from Italy to America and
\nfrom adolescence to adulthood.
\nThere are no myths and certainly no heroes; only the rigours of daily
\nlife at the time, authentically retold through almost twenty years’
\nhistorical research.
\nGiuseppe and Felice provide our link between the mountains of central
\nItaly and Alaska. It is the story of men trying to achieve their dream,
\nand reach "the rainbow’s end".
\nPart of the proceeds from its sale will go to the "Comitato Terra di
\nTrignano", to help to establish the museum on the subject of the Gothic
\nLine on the Riva Ridge, which hopes to bring new prosperity to the
\nhamlet.<\/p>\n
